Red Velvet & Mushrooms

This reminds me of a story i used to read when i was a kid " Red Riding Hood"

the story scenes are in a forest so you can see the resemblance of Meringue Mushrooms & Red Velvet Cake...
the cream cheese filling and coating is the main key to the deliciousness of this cake... i swear anyone who tastes it wants the recipe... its magical trust me :P

so here is your recipe  Red Velvet Cake

and the mushroom would be fun in children birthdays, i myself cant get enough of them.

Apple & Caramel Cake

I found this recipe in a Moulinex machine recipe book, i make it always and it always finishes in 2 days, the lovely thing about it is that it doesn't require crazy ingredients just basics you can find in your kitchen,,

Caramel Apple Cake:
Ingredients:
175g Softened butter
350g caster sugar
3 eggs
350g sifted flour
1tbsp baking powder
45ml milk
pinch of salt

Topping:
396g drained apples ( i slice fresh apples and lay them in some warm water and sugar before i start the recipe)
275g caster sugar
90ml milk
50g butter

- cream the butter and caster sugar together in the processor bowl until light and fluffy. stop the processor two or three times during creaming to scrape down the mixture.
- add the eggs one at a time with the processor running.
- slowly add the flour, baking powder, milk and salt to the creamed mixture, stop the food processor as soon as the flour in incorporated into the mixture.
- place the cake mixture into a buttered 23 cm squared cake tin and arrange the apples on top. bake at 150 degrees C for 1- 1 1\4 hours, until a cocktail stick is inserted and comes out clean.
-put the sugar, milk and butter into a saucepan and cook for 20 minutes. pour over warm cake. serve hot or cold with cream.

Chocolate Cheesecake

Cheesecake is one of my favorite desserts which I enjoy both making & eating...
I used to make the original Cheesecake but this time i wanted to try a little risky business and make the chocolate version wishing that it works, and at end this was the out come... I think I'm pleased with it...

Its not a difficult thing to do, i took me a couple of disasters times to master it...

Tip: best eaten a day after.. trust me ;)

Hello Bakers

I can say with a big smile on my face that baking is my happy time in my happy place.. the kitchen
I can't say that i'm excellent in what i do, but i'm fairly good. and to be honest i really try my best and what matters to me is the time i spend in the kitchen baking because thats the time when i forget about the rest of the world.. i think there should be a soundtrack with that.
Anyhow, in this blog i will post whatever food i make with photos, recipes and tips... bear with me because my camera recently died so the photos' quality will be a bit poor.. but i'm working on getting a new one very soon.
