Apple & Caramel Cake

I found this recipe in a Moulinex machine recipe book, i make it always and it always finishes in 2 days, the lovely thing about it is that it doesn't require crazy ingredients just basics you can find in your kitchen,,

Caramel Apple Cake:
Ingredients:
175g Softened butter
350g caster sugar
3 eggs
350g sifted flour
1tbsp baking powder
45ml milk
pinch of salt

Topping:
396g drained apples ( i slice fresh apples and lay them in some warm water and sugar before i start the recipe)
275g caster sugar
90ml milk
50g butter

- cream the butter and caster sugar together in the processor bowl until light and fluffy. stop the processor two or three times during creaming to scrape down the mixture.
- add the eggs one at a time with the processor running.
- slowly add the flour, baking powder, milk and salt to the creamed mixture, stop the food processor as soon as the flour in incorporated into the mixture.
- place the cake mixture into a buttered 23 cm squared cake tin and arrange the apples on top. bake at 150 degrees C for 1- 1 1\4 hours, until a cocktail stick is inserted and comes out clean.
-put the sugar, milk and butter into a saucepan and cook for 20 minutes. pour over warm cake. serve hot or cold with cream.
